Yes, it is legal to live in a camper van. So, a van dwelling is not illegal in the united States of America. In addition, there are no laws stating you can't live in a camper in this country. The IRS considers mobile homes, RVs and vans to be homes. Of course, you will need to follow your states' protocols to live in a permitted space like a van dwelling.
Remember, you can also pursue of being a digital entrepreneur living in a van too. Again, if you have zero debt and low overhead costs, van life is the way to go. In addition, no distractions and person to report to. Also, no board rooms meetings, powerpoint or excel spreadsheets to create for someone else. So, you get to work for yourself and from whatever location you choose.

There are a lot of people who live in a van because of the freedom that it provides. Yes, it is a different type of lifestyle as opposed to a home. Also, to build up your finances while limiting outside expenses that come from home ownership or renting. So, yes van life can be very good. Did I mention there are also no utility bills to pay? Yes, van life can be extremely good depending on your circumstances.

How can one make a living financially by way of living in a van? Well, a laptop or cell phone is all you really need. Do you operate a business online? If so, digital entrepreneurs have a lot of leverage. They can work as little or as much on their business as they see fit. The only expenditures that they have are monthly hosting of their blogs. There are some van dwellers who also have access to or have negotiated deals to park their van on private property. So, there are options out there for you for sure. Yes, you may even find people living the van life parked in Wal-Mart parking lots.
Again, this is a drastic change from. Of course, make sure to check out if areas like these permit van dwellers to stay on their property. The reason being is there are some areas of the united States of America that do not permit sleeping in a vehicle.

What type of van you get will depend on your financial situation. I would recommend getting a van with the below perks and benefits…

- A bed that is easily movable
- Kitchen with enough space to get what you need to get done
- Bathroom if you can. Again, be mindful of the clean up process. So, you may want to use it only for emergency. So, stop somewhere to use the bathroom to save yourself having to clean out your van
There are numerous sized vans you can purchase. Again, it just depends on how much you want to spend on your van dwelling. Yes, van life is most certainly an adventure.
