Blogging Coach | Top Tips to Blog and Vlog

Are you seeking a blogging coach? If so, welcome to Internet of Business. I am glad you have made it here. I didn't have a blogging coach when I first started blogging in 2011. That being said, I learned through trial and error what you should and should not do. Is blogging dead?

No, it is not. in fact, there has never been a better time than now to start building your online presence. What I will not do is lie to you. Blogging takes work and patience.

Who doesn't want to start earning residual income from their blog right? How many people believe in delayed gratification? The reality is far less people than one might think. So, you have to be willing to put in consistent work over a long period of time to become a successful blogger.

I often get asked what is the difference between blogging and vlogging. Blogging is creating content through written format and the other is via video content. Are you more of an introvert? Perhaps, blogging is the way to go for you.

What is blog and skills required for blogging?

Persistence and grit are two traits most needed as a s blogger. No, you don't need coding skills to make money online as a blogger. The skills of blogger making income are that they use leverage.

For example, they invest in themselves and use softwares to help them in producing products people need. A blog is a platform for you to share your ideas and thoughts about a specific topic.

Vlogging is a way to create content via making videos. You can create your own YouTube channel for free. Of course, this may not be the best format for an introvert. That being said, don't let that stop you. I, too, am an introvert and started a YouTube channel at RunDreamAchieve.

In addition, have reached many more people world-wide due to taking action and creating one. So, you have to get beyond your fears and just start. Again, there are many ways to add to your blog. Video creation is one of many ways to do so. Also, one of the very best among them all. Remember, focus on a few specific topics. What do I mean? Don't blog about all types of topics. You do not want to confuse your readers.

How much do bloggers make per blog?

In depends. Are you a brand new website owner or thinking about starting your own blog? If so, blogging, as well as vlogging, can be a great way to supplement your income. That being said, it will take some investment on your part. For example, purchasing a domain at Siteground costs around $17.99 USD per year.

Of course, the good news is that the costs to start a blog or website is minimal. Remember, you will also need to host your blog or website and Siteground is about the best in the business.

In fact, I invested in all of my websites and host them there. Hosting costs about $3.99 USD per month. Remember, if you are creating legitimate content that helps people these small investments won't break your bank account.

Bloggers don't have a ceiling on their income like most employees. Are you a full-time or part-time employee? Well, the good news is you can still work your job and build your fortune in your spare time.

Can blogging make you rich?

Nothing is impossible. Of course, to make legitimate income with a blog you need to do far more than the average. Remember, it isn't just about writing content. A common mistake as a blogging coach that I see a lot of blogger making is writing about anything. Can blogging make you rich? Not without enormous amounts of work ethic and correct, content creation.

Unfortunately, far too many bloggers quit too soon. The reasons are endless from misunderstanding the work that is involved to improper keyword use. So, you need to find the right keywords that your potential customers are already typing into the search engines. I use KWFinder for this.

KWFinder is a software that helps you to find low competition, high search volume keywords. Remember, you want to go after long-tail keywords. Long-tail keywords are much longer and usually consist of a minimum of 3 or more words. Yes, there are 2 and even 1 word keywords that have less competition out there. Of course, these are not as common.

What are the basics of blogging?

First, make a plan. What is the name of the domain you wish to purchase? No, it doesn't have to be an exact keyword you must use in the URL. Of course, if you were to want to rank in google for blogging coach, bloggingcoach.com may be a catchy phrase.

In fact, you can buy that domain for $4,095 at the time of this post. Obviously, the first step is buying your domain and hosting as mentioned above with Siteground.

You then need to choose a theme for your blog. Remember, you don't need to spend thousands of dollars or hire a website designer. Studiopress has numerous, beautiful themes available. In addition, Weebly also has some great themes.

WordPress is the top recommended blogging platform in existence. In fact, all of the websites that I own are built on the WordPress platform. Once you have these in place the next step is content creation. Yes, this takes time and patience on your part.

Again, always choose the right keywords when creating your content. Remember, place your focus on the needs of other people first. So, focus on what you want second and you will become a successful blogger.

What kind of blogs make money?

What niche you choose also plays a big part in how much money you potentially can generate as a blogger. Again, without proper content it doesn't matter what niche you pick, no money will be made. So, create legitimate and long content. Google prefers long form content rather than short blog posts. I would recommend a minimum of 1,000 word blog posts and preferably 2,500 words or longer.

The reality is few people are willing to put in that kind of work for a long enough period of time. Of course, I know that is not you otherwise you wouldn't be here at Internet of Business. So, your chances of success will be much higher. Below are some of the types of niches that can potentially help you in making money online…

  • Finance blogs
  • Mom blogs
  • Blogs about marketing and sales
  • Do It Yourself (DIY) blogs
  • Health and fitness
  • Food and recipe blogs
  • Travel blogs
  • Blogs about Fintech
  • Lifestyle blogs

The best advice I can share with you as a blogging coach is to make your content count. Remember, most people will write a 500 word post. There are far less people who will write a 2,000 to 3,000 word blog post. Again, it all goes back to creating the very best content that you can for your readers. So, focus on their needs first and solving problems that they may have. In addition, worry about what you want and desire second.

How do bloggers get paid?

Bloggers get paid various ways. I get paid via PayPal, Google and Stripe through the products that I have created. In addition, I also get paid from other affiliates that I have signed up with. No, this didn't happen overnight. As a blogging coach, it is critical I share with my visitors the methods that I use to get paid. The most important of all pro blogging tips is content creation.

Remember, you can have the most beautiful website in existence. What happens if no one sees it? So, you have to create legitimate content that people will find. I have discussed some of the ways to find the correct keywords below. So, continue to read on. No, you will not get paid if you are not consistent and believe in what you are doing.

Yes, you can make legitimate income online. That being said, you have to think outside the box. You cannot just write about anything that comes to mind. There are many bloggers who do that and never make any money. Blogging takes immense diligence. The good news it that you can work at your own pace. So, you don't have to change up your routine in anyway.

Do personal blogs make money?

Personal blogs can make money. There are blogs out there that are making legitimate income. Again, it comes down to if the blog owner is helping someone solve a need they have. I highly recommend using Rank Math when writing your blog posts. Rank Math will ensure you are using the right amount of keyword repetition throughout your blog.

In addition, it will help you to place the keyword you are writing about in the correct location. Below are some examples of areas many new bloggers miss.

  • URL (example: https://www.yourblog.com/blogging-coach
  • In the first paragraph of your blog post
  • In the meta tag
  • Meta description of your blog post
  • Your keyword needs to be sprinkled throughout your blog the proper amount of times.
  • In the slug of your post

Are blogs profitable in 2022?

Blogs that are profitable in 2022 are creating content across multiple channels. For example, rundreamachieve.com has a membership site, running courses and blog posts. In addition, it also features fitness training plans for runners and consultation calls for customers.

Also, the blog has been around since 2011. It makes anywhere from 4 to 5 figures per month. Of course, this is an example of a small blog. The Huffington Post or Letsrun.com are examples of blogs that are making much more. So, yes, blogs are still profitable in 2022. There are bloggers making 6 figures per month. Again, it comes down to the amount of content you are willing to create.

In addition, the value that you bring to the marketplace. There are numerous ways to create income online. The reality is out business schools do not even teach it. I hold an MBA from Purdue University. Of course, I did learn about supply chain management and how to be a c-suite executive in school.

That being said, I was not taught how to be an entrepreneur. Let's face it, blogging is not the usual choice most people seek out to employ themselves.

Mistakes Bloggers Make

Blogging about their personal life

Of course, you can still do this if you wish. That being said, don't expect to make any money from doing so. Remember, the best advice I can share as a blogging coach is to solve a problem others have. For example creating a course around a problem someone else has.

Are you good at cooking? Why not create a cooking course on how to make delicious food and share your recipes? Do you have a love for teaching? Share some ways people can become a teacher and how to be more effective in your course. We have not been taught how to be producers. Let's face it. What we have been taught is how to be consumers.

Creating products takes time but once they are made they are made. Would you rather just share other people's products and earn a commission? Well, you can always start your own home based business. I did this with Herbalife and share my thoughts over at nutritiongeeks.com.

Also, you join affiliate programs and earn commissions by way of sharing other people's products. I share one below where you can earn 40 percent commissions on each sale you make.

Do you need a degree to be a blogger?

No, you do not need a degree or a beefed up resume in order to be a blogger. Blogging is one of the very best ways to start generating income outside the normal ways we have been taught. Remember, you can still work your full-time or part-time job and build your fortune. No, blogging is not easy nor is it fast money. Yes, you will have to put in some legitimate time and work to grow income online.

That being said, it is worth it. You are working for yourself and not for someone else. My best advice as a blogging coach is to create new assets to add to your blog. So, create valuable content. Also, think of some other ways you can add to the content that you are making on your blog.

For example, sharing affiliate products that your visitors would find value in. In addition, creating products yourself that can help them solve a problem they are dealing with.

You can also start your own home based business and share content on your blog about it. Duplication is a business principle that most of us have not been taught. That being said, it surrounds us all the time. Do you think McDonalds's is a burger business? Of course, but it is really a real estate business. They have duplicated their business practices world-wide. McDonald's like Burger King and Amazon are examples of duplication in practice.

How much traffic is good for a blog?

1000 page views per day is a good start. Of course, aged domains with many backlinks pointing to them will have higher traffic. Yes, there are ways to get more traffic going to a website. For example, investing in an aged domain. Remember, buying a brand new domain means you are starting from scratch. The majority of new bloggers go this route. Yes, you can still be very successful starting a brand new blog.

That being said, it will take some time before you start earning income from Google Adsense. Also, you will have zero to little content written. So, be patient when starting a brand new blog or website.

In addition, new blogs take about 5 to 6 months to get out of the Google Sandbox. The Google Sandbox is an alleged filter which prevents new blogs from ranking in the search engines quickly. So, when you purchase an aged domain at a place like Flippa.com you speed up the ranking process.

Also, your blog posts will rank faster due to the fact your domain has backlinks pointing to it. Backlinks simply are websites that are pointing to yours. Remember, as a new blog owner your blog will not have any other backlinks pointing to it. So, focus on creating legitimate content that people will feel is worthwhile to share.

How can I make real money online?

Yes, but you have to be patient and you must have a high work ethic. Remember, you also need to work smart. There are softwares in existence you can utilize to help speed up your production. Of course, you can hire people to write your content for you at Fiverr if you wish. I prefer to write my own content.

That being said, there are ghostwriters for hire there. Fiverr is a platform where you can hire professionals to do all sorts of jobs for you. How many new bloggers know about it? I would say it is probably very low. So, as a blogging coach I always aim to help my visitors to use leverage.

Leverage simply means doing more with less. You can also create your own course and sell it over and over again using Podia. Podia is where I created my running courses. In addition, I pay my affiliates a 40 percent commission on every sale they make of my running products.

Affiliate marketing is a great way to start earning additional income online with your blog. Affiliate marketing is simply sharing someone else's product and earning a commission from each sale you make. Of course, creating your own products is a great way to supplement your income online too.

How do beginners make money online?

The easiest way for new bloggers to make money online is via Google Adsense. Google Adsense is placing ads onto your blog or website. It is a simple process. That being said, don't expect to make life-altering income with this method. Also, you need to have a blog or website that has some legitimate traffic to make any real money this way.

Of course, it is one, easy way to start making a few cents or dollars per day though. So, seeing some income coming in via your blog is a motivating way to stay focused. Remember, focus first on the needs of others and that will keep you motivated to keep doing it. Also, think of other ways to generate income online. Below are some of my top recommended ways as a blogging coach I would focus on…

  • Create a course around a topic you know best and sell it on your website
  • Start a membership site. Membership sites take a lot of work but as you build your community your monthly, residual income grows
  • Google Adsense
  • Start a Podcast
  • Write an e-book and sell it on your blog
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Start a home based business for less than $95 USD
  • Create an affiliate program for the product that you sell
  • Pick the right theme to ensure you have a good looking site like the Kadence Theme

Closing Thoughts

As a blogging coach it is my duty to share the strategies I have used to grow 3 blogs. Internet of Business is the newest of the 3 having been purchased in August of 2021. So, if you are reading this you are early in the life of this particular blog. My other two blogs are over 11 and 3 years old. That being said, it is finding the right content that counts.

There are many people that are just now starting their blogs who don't know what you now know. So, utilize the tools and resources that are available to you. Pinterest is another method to get free, organic traffic to your blog. Few people realize that Pinterest is actually a search engine. In fact, there are millions of people who visit Pinterest each month.

Once you learn the proper way to utilize Pinterest you can really add to your traffic. I invested in the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course. The result is I am now getting over 30,000 monthly visitors to my fitness sites. In addition, nearly 15,000 visitors to my nutrition website.
