About IOB

Welcome to the Internet of Business (IOB) about page. Well, how should I start this…

My passion for entrepreneurship started when I was very young. Yes, I used to go door to door and sell moths to people. Yep, those green things you see hanging out next to your home. I sold them for $0.15 cents and people actually bought them. Crazy right?

I invested about $2,000 and bought this aged domain just over a year ago. It had an entrepreneurship aura about it. So, wanted to create a place for people around the world to come to.

More importantly, to find solutions to getting beyond just working for a paycheck. Of course, there is nothing wrong with working a job. Remember, it may be linear income but it is still income.

Linear income stops coming in the moment you stop showing up for work. Yes, there are good jobs out there. That being said, what happens if you get laid off, cannot work or get sick? Will your employer continue to pay you regardless if you show up or not? No. The pay stops coming in the second you stop showing up to your place of employment.

Passive Income

There is no such thing as passive income. Yes, you read that right. Passive income can only be created with consistent action on our parts. Who doesn't want residual income coming in right? The facts are everyone wants it but so few are willing to delay gratification long enough in order to obtain it.

My goal with Internet of Business is to provide some clues to create it. Have you ever heard money doesn't grow on trees? Well, whoever told you and I that was lying.

People would do better if they knew better – Jim Rohn, entrepreneur

Money does grow on trees. The problem is you have to create a money tree first. In addition, once you laid the seed you have to nurture it as it grows. Sadly, this is not an easy task without the knowledge to create one. Hello, my name is Nathan. I started building online businesses back in 2011 when I was deployed to Afghanistan.

One night while getting a shower my base was attacked. It changed my mindset about life in general. Are we here just to work in a cubicle or office, pay bills and die? No, there is more to life than just working hard for money just so you can pay your mortgage, student loans or credit cards.

Limited time

You are not a slave. Have you ever asked yourself, “Is this it?” Get up, trade 8 to 12 hours at a job you may love or hate only to start the next day all over again? Does your employer pay you for the work that your co-workers do? Absolutely not right?

Yes, there are certainly people who love what they do for a living. Of course, I had a decent paying job in the Army. So, people do have jobs they enjoy. Why have so few been taught about investing and working for themselves?

Jobs can feel, well, monotonous at times. Could it be that the vehicle we have been taught to drive in is a tricycle instead of a Ferrari? It doesn't matter how hard you pedal that tricycle you are never going to outrun someone driving a Ferrari. My goal is to help you get beyond the status quo of what you have been taught.

That being said, working for a paycheck is limiting. One, you have a ceiling on your income. Two, your pay is tied to your time. So, it is linear income. Lastly, you only get paid for when you are at the job. What happens when you come home?

Do you get paid while you sleep or spending time with your loved ones? Let's face it. The reality is, for most people, is that they only are paid for the time they put in.

Leverage

No, a Creator gave us life and to live that live more abundantly. I, like so many others, have been taught to work hard for money. What I was not taught was how to make money work hard for me. No, I didn't learn this in business school either. I hold multiple college degrees and none of them taught me about residual income. In addition, business school at Purdue University didn't teach me about leverage.

Yes, I was awarded an MBA and was taught how to move up the corporate latter. In addition, other skills like supply chain management, economics and other managerial classes. That being said, how to be totally free was not taught, respectfully.

Training prior to running 2:19:35 for the marathon with Lisa Rainsberger (1985 Boston Marathon champion)

Again, there are certainly perks to education. I am a lifelong learner. That being said, life is short. So, I want to live it to the maximum and not be tied to a paycheck. More importantly, my desire is to help free other people from just getting by. There are so many ways to generate income that most of us have never been taught.

For example, affiliate and network marketing, real estate investing and creating products to name a few. What would you do if money was no longer a concern? Could you not take that time and create value for someone else? Travel more? Spend time with loved ones? Get up when you wanted to and go where you wanted to without having to ask permission to do so?

The Goal of Internet of Business

Internet of Business is one of 3 web properties that I own. The other two have to do with running and nutrition. Of course, I needed a place to house my thoughts on entrepreneurship so chose Internet of Business. I learned my entrepreneurial mindset from over 30 years as a distance runner. I spent over 20 years on active duty retiring in March of 2022 from the US Army as a Commissioned Officer.

So, I became very good at being on time, staying committed to a project and mission accomplishment. Time flew by as it always does and all I could think about was entrepreneurship. In addition, helping others get ahead.

My experience in Afghanistan jolted my creative mindset. We all take our freedom for granted. It took that experience of being attacked in Afghanistan to wake me up. Life is precious and our time is limited. Yes, there is plenty of money to be made, limited time. So, it is time for you and I to start learning alternative ways to generate income.

My goal is to share as much detailed information here as I can. Also, to share with you the software that I use to build my own businesses online. My hope is that I can provide valuable content here that can help rid people from debt.

In addition, provide means and ways to create residual income for people who otherwise may have never known how to generate it.

Welcome

Welcome to Internet of Business. My name is Nathan and I am glad you have made it here to my site. Yep, that's me finishing as the top American and in 4th place of the 2007 California International marathon with a finish time of 2:19:35.

I commit you, the visitor of this website, to give as much effort to helping you start your own blog or online business as I did preparing for the performance you see below.

Areas of Focus

  • Have more time freedom.
  • Less time doing things you truly are not passionate about.
  • Stop living paycheck to paycheck.
  • Seeking alternative ways to generate residual income like blogging.
  • Eliminate unwanted debt.
  • Travel more.
  • Spend more time with your loved ones.
  • Have more residual (passive) income coming in.
  • Supplement your income.
  • Help other people.

Well, I fully understand. Yes, I, too, have been in debt in the past. Thankfully, I no longer have student loans or credit card debt. I also want you to not have any unnecessary debt either.

Have you ever been at work and thought “I really would rather be somewhere else right now doing what I truly want to do”. Yep, I was right there with you several times in serving in the Army.

Blogging is where it all started for me. So, the focus of Internet of Business is to help people start their on blog or website. In addition, there will be other resources available here to help you start generating income online.

The Entrepreneurial Mindset

The focus of Internet of Business is to get you beyond just thinking like an employee, respectfully. No, there is nothing wrong with being an employee. Again, everyone is different. The bottom line is this. We all are going to pass away.

Our bodies are temporary vessels we live in. So, it is a personal choice to travel on the side walk or the Fastlane. No one taught me about the Fast Lane until I read The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ Demarco.

I highly recommend that book. In fact, I learned more in that book than I did in 18 months earning my MBA at Purdue University. I was very fortune in that I used my Post 911 GI Bill benefits to earn my first masters degrees in Sport Administration. In addition, for the MBA.

Currently, I am working on my Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Ironically, the subject of my dissertation is on the entrepreneurial mindset and MBA students. The facts are everyone has what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

You are here.

So, it tells me you are seeking more. Furthermore, you want to get beyond working for The Man, respectfully. That being said, being an entrepreneur is not as “safe and secure” as a job. We are ultimately in control of our income.

The beauty of your situation is you are more than likely working a job. So, you can continue to work your full-time or part-time job and build your fortune in your spare time.

first blog | Circa 2011

I started my fitness blog in 2011. It took several years to start earning income. That being said, I was not in a rush. My focus was and still is on the visitors. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is putting the focus on yourself. Remember, being an entrepreneur is about servant leadership.

So, you are helping someone else to get what they want. In return, you get what you want. Success in blogging takes enormous dedication.

I place the same amount of focus and dedication to my online properties as I did to competing in marathons.

Remember, the key to success as a blogger is to put in consistent content. In addition, creating content around specific keywords that your specific market is already searching for. Are you good in design? Find the right keywords to write about.

Do you have skills as a mechanic? Why not create a course at Podia like I did. Podia is a one-stop shop for people who have the entrepreneurial mindset. You can create a course and sell it over and over again.

Our Mission and Goals

The major mission here at Internet of Business is to share with you what I have learned from over 11 years of generating content online. Is the process of earning revenue while you sleep easy? No, it is not a walk in the park. Again, everyone desires residual income. It is another thing to actually create it.

So, significant, up-front work must be done first. The goal of Internet of Business is to speed up the learning process for you. Also, to share with you tools and strategies to ensure you succeed.

People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care – Zig Zigler, entrepreneur

Internet of Business was created to help ordinary men and women around the world produce extraordinary income. No, I cannot guarantee you success. Your success will be determined by how diligent you are. In addition, how well you follow the advice shared here.

Yes, I have made money online creating products, selling other people's products and creating valuing for others. No, it was not an overnight process. Remember, the beauty of all of this is you can still work your job and build your fortune in your spare time.

Founder of Internet of Business

Nathan served over 20 years on active duty in the US Army retiring at the rank of Major. An avid runner, Nathan would go on to finish as the top American and in 4th place at the 2007 California International marathon with a finish time of 2:19:35.

He is a former member of the prestigious US Army World Class Athlete Program (WCAP). Nathan's love for entrepreneurship came from over 30 years competing in national and international competitions. Entrepreneurship acumen and athletics are very closely related.

The individual must be highly disciplined and be willing to work at all hours of the day. Results in sport, like entrepreneurship, will only occur through grit and determination. Nathan brings a strong desire to help people to think outside the box.

Also, to provide solutions to problems that employees around the world are facing. Employees already know how to work hard. Why are so many employees world-wide barely making ends meet financially?

Perhaps, an old, tired and flawed Industrial Aged mindset has been taught to them? Nathan's goal is to provide a way to change the vehicle people travel in from a tricycle to a Ferrari.
