Yes, there are many amateur blogs out there. That being said, there are many which are earning income. Remember, you don't have to spend thousands of dollars on a custom made website. Remember, there are options like Studiopress and Weebly that can do that for you at a fraction of the cost. Amateur blogs may look simple but not all of them are failures.

Professional bloggers had to first start as amateurs too. So, this is a fact that many people forget about. Is blogging dead? Absolutely not. In fact, there has never been a better time to start blogging than now. People all over the world are seeking resources to help them to start earning income online.

How do I start a blog with no experience?

You start. Of course, easier said than done right? I was like many new bloggers when I first started back in 2011. I created a running website that now generate consistent passive income each month. That being said, I had to create value first.

Yes, you will need to invest in yourself if you are going to become a successful blogger. Who doesn't want to generate passive income right? The problem is so few people believe in delayed gratification. The facts are quick results do not come via blogging vs vlogging.

People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care

Buy a domain and host it

Remember, your focus needs to be on the needs and wants of others first. Can you solve a problem that they have? Do you have no experience? No problem. The first step is to purchase a domain. I recommend Siteground to do this. In addition, you will also need a host to house your website or blog.

Siteground does that as well. In fact, I have all of my website hosted at Siteground. The good news is that it is affordable. You can get website domain for an annual fee of only $17.99 USD per year at Siteground.

The cost to host your website once purchased is only $3.99 USD per month at Siteground too. So, you will not break your bank account. Again, you have to invest in yourself when you start with no experience.

The next step is to start creating content. You can do this via blogging or vlogging. The difference between blogging and vlogging is one is written and the other is video content.

You want to build your brand. Of course, this won't happen overnight. How do you start generating income quickly aside from blogging? Start a home based business. Also, you can start your own YouTube channel like I did which now pays me every month. No, YouTube didn't immediately start paying me. In fact, it took several months to start earning income there.

How do beginner blogs make money?

Can amateur blogs still make money? Of course. That being said, you need to be consistent with your content creation. In addition, you need to think outside the box. How can I create more value to generate more income and invest that money in other assets?

Yes, that is one of the main questions you need to be asking yourself. Google Adsense is one of many ways new bloggers can start making money. In fact, you can place Adsense onto your blog or website the first week you own it.

Remember, to earn with Google Adsense you need to have some traffic going to your blog. So, be mindful of this fact. Again, most people do not believe in delayed gratification. How patient are you? The beauty of blogging or vlogging is you can still work your full-time or part-time job and build your fortune in your spare time.

Yes, it takes a lot of up-front work. That being said, you are working for yourself and not for someone else. Also, you do not have a ceiling on your income like you do with a job, respectfully.

How do bloggers get paid?

There are numerous ways bloggers get paid. Below are just a few of the ways that I get paid to give you an idea

  • YouTube ads
  • Google Adsense
  • Membership sites
  • Being an affiliate for other people's products
  • Via products I made using the Podia software
  • Via a home based business (i.e. network marketing)
  • Fitness courses I created
  • Affiliates (you can sign up for free and earn 40% commissions via sharing RunDreamAchieve products)

The easiest way to start earning a few cents is via Google Adsense. Of course, as your traffic builds and you start getting visitors to your site this will turn into dollars.

Should I start a blog in 2022?

Yes, you should. Are you tired of living paycheck to paycheck? You are not alone. There is nothing wrong with working a job. That being said, it is linear income that you working for. So, the moment you stop showing up is the moment your paycheck stops coming in. Why are so many highly educated, driven and motivated employees barely making ends meet?

One source of income.

What happens if that one source of income you rely on and have been taught to work hard for dries up? So, you have to be thinking of other ways to supplement your income. Who are the highest taxed? employees. Below are just few areas that take the income of most people.

  • Mortgages
  • Credit card debt
  • Student loan debt
  • Childcare
  • Groceries
  • Rent
  • Utility bills
  • Money spent on gas to and from your job

Is it no wonder so many people relying on one source of income are broke? I don't mean to sound harsh but the facts are facts. We all have been taught to travel in a business vehicle that has no mathematical relationship to real wealth.

The focus here is to switch the vehicle you are traveling in from a tricycle to a Ferrari. Yes, you can do that with a blog. Why? Well, because a blog can branch into many other income generating sources. It is a like a money tree and the assets you create from it are the branches. Check out my journey to give you a few additional pointers on this.

What makes a successful blog?

Consistent, non-stop action. There is nothing simple about creating a successful blog. Internet of Business is the newest blog that I have centered on blogging and residual income methods. It is less than than a year and half old at the time of this post.

The oldest website I own is rundreamachieve. I created it in 2011 nearly 10 years ago at the time of this writing. Successful blogger and vloggers focus on others first. Remember, it isn't about you and I but providing solutions to problems other people have.

So, never focus on yourself. Your wants and desires should be second when it comes to blogging and vlogging. I started making videos for runners on YouTube about 2 years ago. It has been a labor of love but I didn't start earning money quickly.

In fact, it was several months before I started to see money coming in from YouTube. What makes a successful blog? Persistence on the part of the blogger. There are millions of blog online. That being said, not all amateur blogs and even aged domains make money.

Again, it goes back to the attention you are placing your efforts on. Is it on what you want or solving problems other people have? Do you have a skill that you can teach others about? If so, why not create a course revolved around that?

How many views does blogger need to get paid?

10,000 views per month is a legitimate amount of traffic to start seeing descent income coming in. Again, if you just write about any topic that doesn't solve a problem how successful will you be? A common mistake I see bloggers making is not considering the keywords that they use.

Remember, your goal is to find specific keywords that your visitors are already searching in the search engines. Are you good at a specific skill? Can you design clothes? Are you a great mechanic? Teacher? Are you a former military member? Regardless what skill you have you need to share it on your blog.

Also, you need to find the right keywords to create your blog and vlog content around. For example, I use TubeBuddy for creating vlog content at RunDreamAchieve. I also use that tool so that I am not guessing on topics. Again, the point is to create valuable content revolved around search terms your potential customers are searching for. I use KWFinder to find keywords to create blog content around.

So, be patient when it comes to growing your traffic. Blogging is not a get-rich-quick scheme. is it possible to get rich quick? Yes but it will never come slow or quick unless you put in consistent content and regular work. The reality is most bloggers make no money. Why? The focus is on their desires rather than helping someone else to get what they want. So, do the opposite of the masses and you will make a major difference.

What kind of blogs make money?

Again, amateur blogs can make you money. It doesn't matter if you are a new blogger or a veteran. Your daily action is what counts the most when it comes to generating income. Residual income is not the same as the income you earn at your place of employment.

There is plenty of money to be made but limited time. So, what can you do in order to start earning at all hours of the day? Consider the niche you are choosing. Below are some great blog niches to consider when starting your new blog or website

  • Mom blogs
  • Fitness blog (who doesn't want to be in great shape right?)
  • Finance blogs
  • Blogs about blogging
  • Self care and personal development
  • Blogs revolved around marketing
  • Food and recipe blogs
  • Do It Yourself (DIY) blogs
  • Blogs that have to do with fashion
  • Amateur blogs (yes, some actually do make money)
  • Blogs that are focused on lifestyle
  • Travel blogs

Can bloggers who pick these niches still make no money? Investing in a domain and hosting is only the first step. Search engine optimization is a massive skill you need to learn.

So, you are either all in or lukewarm. I recommend you check out the 6-figure blogger course. I invested in this course myself years ago when I was seeking to learn more about SEO.

How long does it take to start making money from a blog?

I wouldn't even think about making money with a blog without creating at least a year's worth of content. Do you want to be truly successful at this? Have a belief or grow a strong belief in delayed gratification.

A common reason so many people make little to no money as a blogger is they want quick results. In addition, they don't stick with it long enough. My hope for you is that you find value here at Internet of Business.

More importantly, that you utilize the resources available here to you that can help you succeed. Remember, the key is to use leverage. How can I duplicate my work habits? Can you create a course around solving a problem that someone else has and sell it over and over again once made?

How come we were never taught this concept in our school system? Business school did not teach me anything about the concept of residual (passive) income or how to get it.

Yes, an MBA program will teach you some entrepreneurial concepts. That being said, the focus of most business schools money generation. Yes, universities and college are for-profit organizations.

Closing Thoughts

So, can amateur blogs be effective? It depends on if you want to become a blogging professional. As mentioned above, the trait you must have to succeed is tenacity and determination. There is not substitute. Invest in yourself like I have.

Check out the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course. The course is just another way to get ahead with your blogging journey. Again, you have to use leverage. Pinterest is not just a website but a search engine.

In addition, it is a place millions of people around the world go to each month. So, these people are searching for what you have to offer. Remember, running Google ads to your website or blog is expensive. There are better ways to generate free, organic traffic to your site for years to come.

That being said, it will take time and up-front work first in order to make this a reality. I have found no other Pinterest course online that can touch this one. In addition, have used it to get over 30,000 monthly views on one of my sites.

Also, over 15,000 monthly views on another web property that I own. I hope this post on amateur blogs has been helpful. Are you new to blogging? Don't let that intimidate you. As mentioned above, just stick with it and keep putting out legitimate content and you will succeed.
